As a proud player of the Blue Mountains Badminton myself, I volunteered to design their promotional banner. To support their outreach and member recruitment, this illustration was designed to capture the energetic and collaborative spirit of badminton. The artwork features a combination of approachable characters, bold colours and dynamic poses. Emphasising the fun, teamwork and welcoming atmosphere of the club.
Composition Drafts
These drafts show alternative concepts, offering the choice between featuring characters or focusing solely on a shuttlecock. These variations explore different colour palettes and layout arrangements, showing how each option affects contrast, emphasis, and overall mood. By comparing character-driven compositions with a more minimal approach, the drafts provide clear creative directions to support selection and refinement of the final design. Thus the club leaned towards the character illustration as it not only displayed the competitive nature, but highlighted the social connections formed within this sport.
