University Brief

Major Work

2024

A joyful food truck that brings the lively street food atmosphere of Malaysia into the campuses of Western Sydney Universities. With studies eating up time and soaring prices that hurts wallets, many university students don’t have the time to have a proper hearty meal to start their day. Nutritious meals are essential to maintaining wellbeing and improving academic performance of young students. Happi Hawka strives to improve WSU’s food environment by providing healthy affordable meals, building a community and encouraging home cooked meals!

Malaysian cuisine can be seen as a performance, where food preparation is brought to life by dancing fires and flowing milk tea. A snapshot of this perspective is illustrated on a series of unique recipe cards, capturing the movement and vibrancy of Malaysian cooking.

Hawka Habitat

To strengthen the brand, I designed an app prototype called Hawka Habitat. With convenience, recipes can be quickly downloaded and accessed through the QR code function. Reviews and ratings are encouraged, allowing students to gain an insight into what dishes are best suited to their taste as well as their cooking skills. By completing daily missions and engaging with the digital community, students can build up loyalty points in exchange for rewards. The app strives to increase student engagement and allow them to form a stronger relationship with the brand and the community.
